Rotary Watches Heritage

A family business

Many of the world's most famous watchmakers started as family firms. Most have grown into vast conglomerates, losing touch with the traditions of their founders. Rotary, however, has remained in the family for four generations. Rotary Watches is a thriving company with a strong heritage.

Signature - Robert Dreyfuss, Chairman, Rotary Watches

Swiss heritage

La Chaux de Fonds Rotary began in 1895 when Moise Dreyfuss opened his factory in the Swiss town of La Chaux de Fonds. Demand for good value, quality merchandise ensured the business grew quickly, and within twelve years Moise's sons, Georges and Sylvain Dreyfuss, had opened an office in Britain to import the family watches.

Ongoing success

The company continued to grow, and in 1925 they introduced the now famous Rotary logo, the "winged wheel". Rotary's success continued and in 1940 it was appointed the official watch supplier to the British Army.

Robert Dreyfuss joined the company in 1987, commencing the fourth generation of a fully independent family company and maintaining Rotary as an international brand sold in over 40 countries worldwide.
